Melissa, thank you for being so open. As an operator, I can relate. My questions are: 1) did it take you a year to regain your inspiration, and 2) if so, what did you do? I am curious whether you unplugged before re-plug back in, or if you just kept pushing - even mechanically - until psychologically you finally saw light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm actually going to Rise Higher again this coming Thursday. It took about 6-8 months after all those things to fully digest, integrate my learnings...and figure out what I want to do now. I also consume a lot of founder content and self help content, like DOAC from Steven Barlett, MFM with Sam Parr, Practical Founders with Greg Head, Mel Robbins pod and follow on Insta, Alex Hormozi. It's a work in progress but I did need external help. Hoffman was the best thing I've ever done. Rise Higher was the second best thing I've ever done. All this work you do doesn't make you into a different person, it helps you remember who you are.
Thank you, Melissa. I read both articles. The following passage from you deeply resonated with me - someone who’s also aware of and fighting that innate (false) sense of inadequacy.
“The thing is, I honor my pain because it made me who I am. It made me independent and ambitious. It made me try because I was so desperate to get out.”
Love these easy-to-digest roundups! Will go read through your new post on the mental game of entrepreneurship!
Thank you, Carrie!

Hi Kevin, I wrote about this journey almost in real time. I went to Hoffman Process in April last year, and after I wrote this: https://www.melissakwan.com/p/the-importance-of-self-love-in-entrepreneurship
Then I went to a mushroom ceremony retreat called Rise Higher, then wrote this after: https://www.melissakwan.com/p/losing-delusional-self-belief
