A strong reminder that entrepreneurship is as much a mental game as a business game. Strategy matters, but mindset often determines who lasts long enough to win.
As a first-time founder this line really resonated: "You self-sabotage in a hundred small ways, sometimes even without realizing it."
I sometimes struggle with feeling guilty for "not working" or "doing" enough. But I'm starting to notice that working from "expansion" with an inherent belief of I can do this works better than working from "contraction".
I really enjoyed the strikeout on the word delusion. I woke up one morning with a thought, that entrepreneurship is simply the process of manifesting our own delusions. It has been my mantra ever since.
I have found that there is a nature and nurture part of this mindset as well – positivity and confidence just come pretty naturally to some people, and to others, it seems a bit delusional. You can 100% cultivate it in in yourself and others but really agree that the lens in which view challenges does seem to have a material effect on the overall outcome. Thanks for sharing!
